This fascinating scarce text comprises a wonderfully detailed handbook on the subject of mineralogy. Considered by many to be the ultimate encyclopaedia of mineralogy, this text is very comprehensive and detailed, and has provided the basis for a plethora of other mineralogy and crystallography books. I bought the book thinking of original version. But the seller is selling the xerox copy. None of the photographs are coloured. And the CD rom doesn't have the soft copy of the book. It's a usual guide for Petrography with poor quality and blurred pictures. Very disappointed with the quality of the s: Petrology, scientific study of rocks that deals with their composition, texture, and structure; their occurrence and distribution; and their origin in relation to physicochemical conditions and geologic is concerned with all three major types of rocks—igneous, metamorphic, and sedimentary.
